Obama celebs hit Iowa campuses as Vilsack heads north

Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign will send former Gov. Tom Vilsack to Minnesota this weekend.  Vilsack will speak at AFSCME’s state convention in Minneapolis, and he will travel outside the Twin Cities to other parts of the state for smaller campaign events.

Kao Kalia Yang and Her Hmong Family Memoir

Born in a Thailand refugee camp in 1980, Kao Kalia Yang is one of almost 190,000 Hmong people living in the U.S.

The Minnesota author was in Iowa City on Monday to read from her new book, “The Latehomecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir.”


Video: Ron Paul Fan Gets Constitution Signed, Twice

Some young members of Ron Paul’s “Revolution” brought their own t-shirts to an event at Iowa State University including this student’s design.

Another student in an “Al Franken for Senate”  t-shirt approached Texas Representative Ron Paul with two copies of the constitution.  Paul graciously signed both copies for the young man.
