Vice President Joe Biden will headline the Iowa Democratic Party’s Jefferson-Jackson fundraising dinner, the Democrats announced today.

Responding to criticism from a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Michael Kiernan reiterated that the party will not endorse or support any candidate before the primary.

Democratic candidate for senate Bob Krause is not happy about statements made by his party’s chairman regarding a fourth candidate entering the race to unseat Republican incumbent Chuck Grassley. In fact, said the talk “may threaten the integrity of the Iowa Democratic Party before the voters of Iowa”

Another Democrat will jump into the race to challenge U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley in 2010, and that candidate will give Iowa’s senior senator “the race of his life,” Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Michael Kiernan said.
