McCain launches a second ‘No Surrender’ tour in Iowa
ANALYSIS: Thirteen months after his sinking Republican primary campaign launched its “No Surrender” tour in Sioux City, U.S. Sen. John McCain spent part of Sunday in north-central Iowa, kicking off the last full week of the 2008 general election on a similar note.

Although residence halls on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls remain in lockdown, a potential threat appears to have been averted. A man who made threats toward a female resident of Dancer Hall is currently being questioned by law enforcement, according to eyewitnesses.

UNI Awarded Nearly $1 Million to Fight Violence Against Women
The U.S. Department of Justice has just announced that the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls will receive a grant of $999,909. The funds are earmarked for reduction of violent crimes against women under a flagship project.
