They should be arrested. They should be the role model for us. Many states banned smoking inside your car.

Former Tony Blair adviser Matthew Taylor has an interesting take on why the smoking ban works in the UK: http://www.matthewtaylorsblog.com/prosocialbeha...

Two adults, alone in a car, presumably both of them smokers, but not allowed to smoke. Amazing. What sort of idiots voted for this law and how long do they expect to stay in office? . . . . . . Michael J. McFadden, author of "Dissecting Antismokers' Brains"

Last I recalled, cigarettes were legal. Only the laws, bought and paid for by grants from foundations created by pharmaceutical companies, want to shame (Tobacco Control calls it "denormalize smoking") people for smoking. Before people throw the first stone, maybe they ought to do some research into why we really have bans. Check out the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. They paid 446 million dollars for smoking bans. They owned, as of March 2008, 35,435,184 shares of Johnson and Johnson stock. Who profits from the sales of Nicorette and Nicoderm? Johnson and Johnson and the RWJF!! It's nothing more than a marketing strategy and they've got the ACS, AHA, ALA to do their dirty work (after they received 99 million dollars in grants). The ACS pushes nicotine replacement therapy and, in fact, has lobbied medicare to pay for it. While all the time they know from their own studies that the best way to quit is COLD TURKEY. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Best marketing strategy pharmaceutical money can buy. How is it legal to pay for laws from which you profit financially? Where is the FTC (artificial stock inflation)? Where are the Feds? They should be investigating this! Did you know the RWJF CREATED and FUNDED Tobacco Free Kids? Another excellent strategy. The RWJF just dumped half a billion dollars into obesity. Guess who owns Splenda? Guess who owns the lap band surgery? What a farce. Did you also know that there have been at least 4 complaints filed against Ex-Surgeon General Carmona for scientific misconduct for his 2006 report? It's all starting to fall apart for these people. More and more people know what's really going on. Even Epidemiologists are starting to speak out. Read Geoffrey Kabat's new book "Hyping Health Risks: Environmental Hazards in Daily Life and the Science of Epidemiology". Tobacco Control is all about control and it's all about the money. And our government keeps throwing more and more and more money at it. Wait til this all blows up and they realize how they've been duped.

Mari Culver, there is no need to apologize to anyone for violating such a hateful and senseless piece of un-American legislation as the Iowa smoking ban! You are the best First Lady that any state has ever had! If the health- fascists don't like what you do, "Let them eat alfalfa sprouts!"

Oh, for goodness sakes. I never dreamed something so insignificant as smoking in a state owned vehicle would be such a crime. The anti's love to intimidate others with their ridiculous meaningless laws.
