An incumbent state senator in district 10 who was behind in votes on election night is now six votes ahead, according to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier.
Republican challenger Walt Rogers was declared the winner Tuesday over Democrat incumbent state Sen. Jeff Danielson by just 65 votes. But Black Hawk County Auditor Grant Veeder announced today that after provisional ballots were counted Danielson is now up by six votes.
There are still more absentee ballots to count, and there will be a recount in two precincts within the district. After the two-precinct recount, either side can then call for a recount of the entire district.
A Danielson victory would expand the Democrat lead in the state senate to 32-18.
