Following his commanding re-election Tuesday U.S. Rep, Steve King, R-Iowa, told the Omaha World-Herald that the night was a bittersweet one as he retains concerns that President-elect Barack Obama ascendency to the highest office in the nation will embolden foreign terrorists to do harm to the United States.

In highly controversial remarks in the campaign season King said that if Obama is elected “al-Qaeda and the radical Islamists and their supporters will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11.”

King told the World-Herald he’s standing by those words.

“I made my prediction,” King said. “I made it in March, and I stand by the words I said then.”
