Confirmed: Voting Machine Malfunctions, Hand Recount Necessary for Some 1,500 Ballots

There's not an Iowa contract Each county made its own equipment decisions and purchases.  The Iowa GOP is using Story County's equipment today.

That would have been the Republican-controlled legislature Acting, of course, on marching orders from the HAVA... also handed down from a Republican-controlled legislature. At the time when all of it came down the pipe, there were only a few machines that met all of the requirements.

Happen to know who owns both of the companies that actually fit the mandated requirements?

Which machine? Do you happen to know which machine malfunctioned? If it was one of the Diebold DREs with the toilet paper spool, how do they know the printer didn't malfunction as well?

I guess one thing we do know from all of this is that the leader of the pack isn't up by more than 1,500 votes. Right?

Who selected those machines? Diebold failure. Big surprise. Who was the guy in charge of giving them the Iowa contract? John, do you know?
