Is recounting even a possibility? I guess it would be with the optic scans, but I'm not sure how heavily they relied on the Diebold machines.

it's not actually the secretary of state's job to “call” results. Nothing's official till after the counties have canvassed, and that's at least a week after election day… and the state canvass is maybe a couple weeks after that.

Don't point fingers We should remember how long it took then Secretary of State Chet Culver to declare George Bush the winner over John Kerry in the last presidential election. Days, if I recall correctly.
