Sen. Barack Obama will visit the Hawkeye State at least one more time before voters head to the polls on Tuesday. The event is tentatively set for late Friday morning in Des Moines, although staff could provide no further details at this time.
Pundits recently questioned the McCain campaign’s trips into Iowa, a state that arguably catapulted Obama to the nomination and in which the Democratic hopeful leads polling by double digits.
While early voting, whether by absentee ballot or satallite station, has been pushed by both campaigns, Iowa residents have not readily taken advantage of the opportunity. For instance, only 15 percent of Boone County’s 19,104 registered voters have cast an early vote — despite large Democratic voter registration gains as a result of a hotly contested caucus season.
