There was discussion on the call about the horrible situation with Nikki Tinker. I didn't include it in my write-up because it wasn't necessarily Iowa-centric and also because the piece was getting too long. Parker is not telling the truth when he claims that EMILY's List came on board for Becky Greenwald soon after meeting with her following the June 3 primary. I don't know whether she met with them in June or July, but I do know that EMILY's List endorsed a bunch of other Democratic candidates in more Republican districts than IA-04 over the summer. They didn't get behind Greenwald until September 16. Background:

As for money, if EMILY's LIst had not spent hundreds of thousands of dollars this summer supporting Nikki Tinker in her primary battle against consistently pro-choice Democratic incumbent Steve Cohen in TN-09, they might have a few bucks to throw toward Greenwald's effort to unseat 100 percent anti-choice Tom Latham in IA-04.
