The Iowa Farmers Union and the Center for Rural Affairs will host a forum in Ankeny next week to discuss the 2007 Farm Bill with U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell.
Boswell, an Iowa Democrat who serves on the House Agriculture Committee, will discuss the ag legislation and other rural issues with constituents at the forum on the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny. The forum will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14.
The meeting is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
Boswell is chairman of the House subcommittee on livestock, dairy and poultry and is likely to serve on the House and Senate Farm Bill Conference Committee. The conference committee will resolve differences between the House and Senate versions of the farm bill.
Participants in the forum are encouraged to comment on agriculture policy proposals.
