Less than 24 hours have passed since UI President Sally Mason fired Marcus Mills, UI vice president of legal affairs and general counsel, for his handling of an alleged sexual assault investigation stemming from an incident that took place on campus Oct. 14, 2007.

Mills, however, claims Mason was aware of how the investigation was being handled, the Press-Citizen reports.

When asked Tuesday if Mason knew what was happening in the investigation, Mills told the Press-Citizen: “Yes, absolutely.”
