Three small business owners and a representative from the University of Northern Iowa are scheduled to testify before the U.S. House subcommittee on contracting and technology at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The subcommittee, which is chaired by U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, will hear the personal experiences of Iowans who are recovering from area disasters. The committee members will use the testimony in development of recovery assistance from the Small Business Administration.
Those testifying are:
- Mike Tully, president and chief executive officer of Aerial Services, Inc. in Cedar Falls
- David Wilke, owner of Wilke’s Grocery Store in Elkader
- Don Bowers, owner of Tapken’s Convenience Plus in Anamosa
- Randy Pilkington, executive director of business and community services at the University of Northern Iowa
The meeting will take place in Washington, D.C. in the Longworth House Office Building.
