Filmmaker Ken Burns to speak in Sioux City

Documentary film legend Ken Burns is scheduled to speak at Morningside College in Sioux City Oct. 15.

SIOUX CITY — Acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns will explore the human dimensions of World War II when he is featured speaker for the 2008 Peter Waitt Lecture Oct. 15 at Morningside College.

Burns’ talk, titled “No Ordinary Lives,” is free and open to the public.

His most recent film, “The War,” aired in September 2007 on PBS. The seven-part series told the story of World War II through the personal experiences of men and women from four American towns, including Luverne, Minn.
