U.S. Rep. Steve King made trips to Florida, Arizona, Germany and Russia at the expense of interest groups last year. King’s recently-released annual financial disclosure show the Iowa Republican is in high demand among conservative groups. No other congressman from Iowa listed any similar trips.

Last September, for instance, he traveled to St. Louis for the Eagle Forum. According to its website, the Eagle Forum opposes feminism, the United Nations and open borders with Canada.
Judicial Watch handled the expenses for King’s trip to Tuscon, Ariz., last summer. Judicial Watch aims to uncover government misconduct and has been critical of the Obama Administration’s position against Arizona’s controversial immigration law.
And last spring, Americans for Fair Taxation flew King to South Carolina. The group lobbies to replace all national taxes with a single federal sales tax. A similar group, Club for Growth, paid for King to travel to Florida.
King also traveled on The Heritage Foundation‘s dime last year. That group has a broad conservative agenda, including school choice, welfare reform, and market-driven agriculture policy.
