Tom Latham
Republican farmer-congressman Tom Latham of Ames owns assets valued between about $2 million and $8 million last year, according to financial disclosure statements released recently.
Latham’s coffers were lined with farm properties, savings and a handful of investments at the end of the statement period. The 61-year-old’s most valuable asset is a stake of common stock the bank holding company Green Circle Investments Inc. valued between $1 and $5 million.
Because the disclosures don’t require precise asset values, King’s, Rep. Dave Loebsack‘s, and Rep. Bruce Braley‘s value ranges all overlap.
Republican King listed just three assets on his disclosure, totaling between $130,000 and $350,000. His share of King Construction is worth between $100,000 and $250,000. He listed two retirement accounts valued at less than $50,000.
Democrats Loebsack’s and Braley’s filings looked similar. Loebsack holds between $216,000 and $765,000. Braley Braley has assets worth about $200,000 to $665,000. Both men have a large number of relatively small stock market investments.
And Democrat Leonard Boswell‘s four disclosure items — farm land, equipment and some cattle — are worth between $700,000 and $1.5 million.
