Members of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement — along with National People’s Action, several labor unions and numerous other organizations — converged in downtown Kansas City Tuesday to protest big banks and call for passage of consumer-friendly financial reform.
The protest, which according to media reports drew around 200 people, was designed to “confront the big banks that crashed our economy and refuse to take responsibility for it” and was part of a nationwide protest taking place in cities in California, North Carolina, New York and in Washington, D.C.
Iowa CCI organized a similar event in January in downtown Des Moines.
