Boswell edges GOP rival in 1Q fundraising

Incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell just barely outraised one of the seven men looking to unseat him this fall during the first three months of 2010.

Boswell raised $166,845 this quarter, bringing his total cash on hand to $577,569. Jim Gibbons, a former wrestling coach at Iowa State University, raised $161,761 during the first quarter, bringing his cash on had total to $265,344.

As for the other six men running in the GOP 3rd District primary:

Dave Funk — $24,997 in 1Q, $15,669 cash on hand
