CARROLL — The Whitesburg, Kentucky-based national Center for Rural Strategies this afternoon interviewed Iowa Independent fellow Douglas Burns about the impact of the war in Iraq on rural America, which is doing a disproportionate share of the fighting and dying.
Officials at the center had read Burns’ recent Iowa Independent piece “What Barack Obama gets about the war in Iraq, rural America, that John McCain doesn’t.”
The interview will be posted on the Daily Yonder, a new Web site portal that is being set up by the Center for Rural Strategies and should go live in the next week. it will be launched at www.dailyyonder.com.
The interview was recorded and is expected to be used for a short media/video/Youtube clip that will be featured on the Daily Yonder when it premiers.
