The Iowa Republican blog reports Monday morning that actor and martial-arts champion Chuck Norris will make four stops in the Hawkeye State days before the GOP gubernatorial primary to help the campaign of Bob Vander Plaats.
Norris made a similar trip to Iowa just before the 2008 Iowa Caucuses to campaign for eventual winner Mike Huckabee. Vander Plaats was Huckabee’s state chairman.
The “Walker, Texas Ranger” star will be in Davenport and Cedar Rapids on June 4. He will be in Des Moines and Council Bluffs June 5. The GOP primary is June 8.
Last November, Norris held a fundraiser for Vander Plaats on his ranch in Texas. He endorsed the Sioux City businessman in a syndicated column last June.
