The Republican Party of Iowa and the Republican National Committee are united in their fight against “Pelosi’s Power,” but need money to implement their plan to “fire” the U.S. Speaker of the House.
In e-mail messages sent to constituents Monday, both political organizations are asking members of the GOP to donate funds — a minimum of $30 in-state, and a minimum of $40 nationally — to be used for support of Republican candidates in the November elections.
“Following last night’s devastating vote for government-run health care, it’s time to fire House Speaker Nancy Pelosi,” reads the message from the RPI. “All it takes is 40 seats to push Pelosi and her out-of-touch puppets out of power.”
The message goes on to request a total donation of at least “$30 — ten dollars for each of Iowa’s Obamacare votes.”
The national message also highlights “Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat minions” and their passage of a “radical government-run health care experiment.” The note, signed by RNC Chairman Michael Steele, describes how he has “authorized a money bomb to send a message that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats will hear loud and clear.”
The RNC hopes to raise $402,010 or more in the next 40 hours. The state GOP has not indicated a money goal for its campaign.
