Gov. Chet Culver will be traveling to Illinois next week to headline an event for the Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association.

“We are very pleased to have a national Democratic star like Iowa Governor Chet Culver agree to be the keynote speaker,” said Alan Pirtle, president of the association. “[He] has a tremendous future ahead of him and we look forward to hearing him speak about his successes as Iowa becomes more of a Democratic state.”
Culver, the federal liaison for the Democratic Governors Association, will speak at the Illinois annual Governor’s Day Brunch on Aug. 19 at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield. He will be joined by several Illinois officials including Gov. Pat Quinn, Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Secretary of State Jesse White, and Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias.
