Iowa activist couldn’t kill abortion provider due to lack of know-how

By Jason Hancock | 06.01.09 | 7:26 pm

Following up on an Iowa Independent interview with Dave Leach, the Des Moines resident with ties to the man charged with killing Kansas abortion doctor George Tiller, The Des Moines Register reports that Leach could never attack an abortion provider because he doesn’t know enough about guns:

“You have to have some ability to pull off something like that. I just don’t have it.”

Leach also clarified the widely reported fact that in addition to publishing some of alleged Tiller murderer Scott Roeder’s works in his newsletter, Prayer & Action News, he also met with him. Leach said their last meeting was more than a decade ago.

“He seemed like a nice guy. Personable, good sense of humor,” Leach said.

Kim Lehman, president of Iowa Right to Life, attempted to distance her organization from activists like Leach by telling the Register “the pro-life community is opposed to murder. That’s the whole point.”

One doesn't need any special weapons training to assassinate someone…your typical firearm has a basic point-and-click interface. Instructions for building and using simple but effective explosives, poisons, and other tools of the trade are available from a multitude of sources. Our (homegrown) delusional theo-terrorists have far more resources available to them than do their cousins across the pond. Claims of ignorance are certainly suspect here.
Consider this: Bin Laden didn't fly the planes himself, Dave & Kim.
