Oh, and by the way, I'm beginning to get it that "Iowa Independent" is not really "independent," but another Iowa Democratic Party candidate support group. Nothing else explains the total lack of coverage of single-payer. Your writers are nice folks, but I don't more than a superficial understanding of this issue. And, many assumptions put forth are false.

The "enemies" Dean fears he'll attract by giving details of the public option are the plan's current supporters who will bail when they realize will cost more and still millions without healthcare and result in a system that is even worse than the one now. Shoving single-payer off the table isn't only a slice of genocide in action, it's a pat conclusion that we've given up on a representative democracy. A solid majority of Americans want public, universal healthcare, and Dean admits this. So, then, why isn't there political will for it, unless those in power are ignoring those they represent?

HR676 is hardly perfect or ideologically pure, it's just light years better than what we're being forced to accept. If we discussed it honestly, the public outcry for how we're being had by leadership that reports to Wallstreet rather to us might end this madness.
