Pulitzer Prize-winning Chicago Tribune columnist Clarence Page will visit Des Moines next month to discuss marriage equality.

Page, a nationally syndicated columnist and TV commentator, has been a member of the Chicago Tribune’s editorial board since 1984. He is a regular contributor of essays to “The News Hour with Jim Lehrer” and “News and Notes with Ed Gordon” on National Public Radio.

He will speak at 7 p.m. June 11 in the State Historical Museum Auditorium in downtown Des Moines. The event, which is free and open to the public, is organized by I’M for Iowa and the Iowa chapter of Marriage Equality USA and  is sponsored by Interfaith Alliance of Iowa; One Iowa; Equality Iowa; Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, State Council of Iowa; Iowa Department of Human Rights — Division on the Status of African Americans; and Progressive Coalition of Central Iowa.
