Oscar Argueta, of Mt. Pleasant, Ia., is the publisher of the Spanish-language newspaper El Heraldo Hispano and a supporter of presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Argueta was at his candidate’s recent appearance in Washington, Ia.
Following Romney’s short speech, Argueta posed a question on moral values which gave the former Massachusetts governor a chance to talk about his wife’s plans as first lady.
Romney said, “Every first lady gets to pick one issue that she’s going to go across the country and promote.” His wife, Ann Romney, will work at “helping kids make good decisions … before they have babies, they should get married.”
For his part, Mitt Romney said he wants, “to make sure that we don’t have government programs that incentivize (sic) people to have kids.”

Argueta said that while he disagrees with Romney’s ideas on national English-only language restrictions, he trusts Romney’s plans for immigration: “[Romney] has the sense to do what is right … when it comes to immigration.”
