I guess this amendment is needed to counter that new fad where everybody in the stadium burns a flag to celebrate a touchdown.

Oh, wait, no. I just completely imagined that fad. Flag-burning virtually never happens in reality, and in any event is functionally indistinguishable from equivalent verbal statements of protest.

So, tell me again why we need to amend the United States Constitution to prevent something that virtually never occurs and doesn't actually cause any real harm when it does?

12,000,000,000,000 national debt and rising. I'm sure this is the kind of legislation we need at this point in time. Both parties are totally irresponsible.

The latest research 2000 poll found that Republicans are least likely to be patriotic or to want our country to stay together as 50 states. I find it interesting that at the same time they would want to pass constitutional amendments to restrict freedom of speech in this area.

Chuck may claim to love the flag, but he sure hates those that fought for the flag and what it stands for. Ask Chuck why, in the entire Congress, both House and Senate, there are only 2 people with worse voting records on Veterans issues. Ask Chuck why he hates Vets!
