Videos: Edwards Stumps in Dubuque

By Adam Burke | 11.13.07 | 9:37 am

John Edwards ended his campaign day in Dubuque on Sunday, Nov. 11 at a fundraiser for 1st District Representative Bruce Braley.

Earlier in the day the 2004 vice-presidential candidate released his “Plan to Build One America,” which outlined his comprehensive policy in 80 pages.  Download a copy at his website.

He didn’t have to do much convincing of the Democratic faithful in attendance on red meat issues, such as redeploying troops out of Iraq and working for universal health care.

Edwards reminded his audience that “We had a Democratic president, a Democratic Senate, and a Democratic House in the early 1990′s and the insurance companies, the drug companies and their lobbyists killed universal health care.”  He further noted that instead of health care legislation and reform, Congress passed a trade agreement, NAFTA, which was, “exactly what the big corporate interests and lobbyists in Washington wanted.”In the booklet, “The Plan to Build One America: Bold Solutions for Real Change” Edwards has policy details for Iran, Iraq, Darfur and Uganda.

Except for Iraq and Iran, much of Edwards’ speech focused on domestic issues.  Here is what John Edwards said about recent developments in Pakistan:
