The bill doesn't call for mandatory screening of veterans, it mandates that screening be available to them.  Veterans aren't required to undergo screening for continued health care or any other reason.

I think Coburn's real fear is the “possibility” that veterans might be turned down for a firearm purchase in the future.  Evidently, he considers the 2nd Amendment more important than the safety of the veterans and their community. 

Meanwhile, icasualties.org reports 122 self-inflicted deaths for Iraq vets, as of 8/31/07.  What exactly does Coburn think he's protecting?

There is a psychiatric / pharmaceutical plan to “suicide screen” every child in the United States before  they graduate from high school. Evidence exists that shows massive pharmaceutical backing  that will result in even more overdrugging of kids  with psychiatric drugs .
