Hey MrDuffy! Peter Yarrow is absolutely justified. I think most of America is even more offended than he is. Even the Republicans. Parody is a poke at the powerful, not a mean spirited descent into filth. Get it? Saltzman and Huckabee make exponentially more money than Mr. Yarrow and gobble up more media time as well. And they use it to support bigotry. Hats off to Peter Yarrow and the jumbo Bronx cheer to you.

My comment is to the Iowa Independent: The world is a sadder place when publishers stop hiring copy editors. Mistakes will be made. Communication suffers. Despite how paragraph 2 reads, “Puff the Magic Dragon” was not produced by Paul Shanklin. The parody was produced by Shanklin. The restrictive use of “that” positioned immediately after the Yarrow's song is an error that any attentive copy editor would have fixed. Trivial? No, not at all. Errors that lead to political misunderstandings can have profound effect.
